The installation of offshore wind farms involves a lot of technology and collaboration. Reliable connections also play a crucial role. In the wind farm Luchterduinen off the Dutch coast, Articom contributed to the installation of the cable that connects the park to the mainland.
A great example of how we work together with our partners realising flexible solutions in challenging circumstances.
The challenge
During the installation of the sea-to-shore cable a specialised machine is used: atrencher. This machine digs a trench in the seabed where the cable is safely buried.
To do this, a so-called “sword” is guided into the seabed. This sword is continuously supplied with seawater under high pressure. That water loosens the soil, allowing the cable to be neatly and safely buried.
For this application, ar eliable and robust connection between the pump installation and the trencher was essential.
The solution from Articom
Articom provided thehoses and connection solutionsneeded to transport the water from the pump installation on the support vessel to the trencher.
